Imua Ohana / The Surf Club
Small-group surf camp & coaching · Hawaiʻi
Seven days of world-class surf coaching on the North Shore of Oʻahu with professional surfer Shayden Pacarro. Limited to 3–5 guests per session.
How Shayden coaches
Not a list. The single change that unlocks the most for you today — then repetition until it’s yours.
Filmed daily, reviewed nightly. Feeling and footage rarely agree, and the gap is where progress lives.
Break selection is coaching. Put a surfer on the right wave and half the instruction becomes unnecessary.
A day in the week
Shayden looks at the swell, the wind, and the tide and decides where you’re going. Not the same break every day — the right one for the conditions and for your level.
Two to three hours in the water with coaching from the beach and the lineup. Everything is shot so there is something concrete to talk about later.
Back to the house. Light communal food, a gym or mobility session, and enough downtime that your shoulders forgive you by tomorrow.
The part that changes people. You watch your own waves back frame by frame and finally see the gap between what you thought you did and what you did.
A second surf if it’s on. If it isn’t, you get the North Shore the way locals have it — food, people, places you’d never find alone.
Included in the price
One price. We pick you up, we feed you, we put you in the right water every day, and we get you home tired.
Not included: flights, board rental beyond what’s on hand, and anything you buy in town.

Sessions
Six weeks a year, 3–5 guests each. Roughly thirty people total will do this retreat before 2028.
Rooms
Your own room, king bed, the quiet one in the house. Sold as a solo spot — one per week, so it goes first.
Two bedrooms, two beds in each — four shared spots a week. Share with another guest or bring your travel partner. How most groups end up becoming friends.
Questions
You should be able to paddle out, catch an unbroken wave, and get to your feet on your own. From there, intermediate through advanced all get value — the coaching and the break selection scale to you. If you’re not sure, message us and describe your last six months of surfing; we’ll tell you honestly.
The North Shore is not one wave. Shayden picks from dozens of breaks based on the day and on you. Retreats run outside the biggest winter months for exactly this reason.
Seven nights of lodging, airport pickup and drop-off, daily guided and filmed surf sessions, daily video analysis, gym and recovery sessions, light communal meals, and one full day off to do as you like — hike, snorkel, or explore the North Shore. Flights are on you.
Yes — ask us. We can arrange a shared room and a non-surfing rate, or point them at the island while you’re in the water. It’s a family house; we’re used to this.
The Imua Ohana house rents on its own from $450 a night (30-night minimum, per Hawaiʻi law), and you can add private lessons or a surf guide to any stay.
Book the week directly and pick your room type. Weeks are capped at five people, so spots close quietly and fast — especially the private master.
